Ans. Ides of March means the 15th of March. It was on this day that Julius Caesar was assassinated.  Moreover Caesar was warned about this day by the soothsayer earlier in the play.

Ans. Demetrius is first affected by the love potion.

17.Explain the allusion to Lupercal in Julius Caesar.
Ans. A yearly festival was held on this spot on Feb. 15, in honour of Lupercus, the god of fertility. During that period, females who aren't fertile are supposed to be procreate and fertile ones are supposed to bear more children. It is a time of gratitude and sexual glorification towards the gods for children (or more of them). There was also animal sacrificial, like goat and dog and salt meal cakes were burnt to celebrate this joyous occasion

Ans. Nick Bottom is a character in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream who provides comic relief throughout the play. A weaver by trade, he is famously known for getting his head transformed into that of a donkey by the elusive Puck.

Ans. According to Athenian law, if any girl disobey her father to marry somebody, she must be sent to death or enter a convent as punishment. Theseus imposed this law on Hermia.
